Danis Shakirov, Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars and Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, is visiting Yakutsk on an official working trip.
Today, he toured the D.K. Sivtsev–Suorun Omolloon State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). On June 13, the theatre will host a gala concert featuring artists from the Republic of Tatarstan, held as part of the 25th Federal Sabantuy celebrations.
The State Opera and Ballet Theatre of Yakutia, named after D.K. Sivtsev–Suorun Omolloon, is the first theatre of its kind in the Russian Far Eastern Federal District and one of only four opera and ballet theatres across Siberia and the Far East.
The theatre embraces a mission that is both cultural and educational, aiming to preserve classical heritage while also exploring innovative artistic directions. It serves as a vital platform for introducing audiences to the rich traditions of opera and ballet, cultivating cultural appreciation, and presenting some of the world’s finest examples of musical theatre.
