Takbir al-Tashreeq
From June 5 to June 9, Muslims will recite Takbir al-Tashreeq after every obligatory (fard) prayer, totaling 23 times. Men are to recite it aloud. Women recite it softly (in a whisper).
The takbir is as follows:
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar! La ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd.”
(God is the Greatest, God is the Greatest! There is no deity but God, and God is the Greatest. God is the Greatest and to Him belongs all praise.)
The ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals (as part of the Qurban rite) will continue until sunset on June 8.
