Fanis – at the World Championship

From September 28 to September 30, Yekaterinburg hosted the traditional, international in Europe and Russia international festival of power sports “GOLDEN TIGER – XII”, which includes: bodybuilding, fitness bikini, power lifting, arm wrestling, arm lifting, mass wrestling, power extreme , bench press lying, jiu-jitsu, sambo, hand-to-hand fighting and others.

The geography of the participants is very extensive – Israel, China, Vietnam, France, neighboring countries, and in total 3443 athletes participated, among whom was our compatriot, a native of  Ust-Tunntor village, master of sports – Fanis Mingalievich Matyushev. Bardym people know him as an instructor of the Batyr gym.

As Fanis admits, he came to the sport 10 years ago, began to engage in power triathlon, or powerlifting. After completing the master of sports standard on the bench press in 2015, I first went for the “golden tiger”, performed annually and successfully. Now in the bench press in his category, he became the third.

– My main rival in the competition is myself. Rather, the old injury, which was received in 2012. It still makes itself felt, but thanks to the incredible strength of will, I come out on the platform and every time I remember with gratitude my coach and mentor Vladimir Ilyich Nikonov, who then helped me return to the sport. Taking this opportunity, I would like to wish the athletes not to forget their coaches. And residents of the district – to lead a healthy lifestyle, be disciplined in everything, balance recreation, activity, stick to a diet, do not abuse fatty foods, sweets and go in for sports at any age – this is the key to active longevity, – says Fanis.

For three days at the Yekaterinburg Expo, over 8 thousand people attended the international festival. But the most ardent fan is the athlete’s two-year-old daughter, Amina, together with her mother Alina and older sister Arina, they do not miss any training or competition of the head of the family.

– I would like to say a big thank you to the district administration for believing in me and financial assistance, thanks to which I was able to participate in such a large-scale competition. I also want to mention director of the junior sports school Rustam Batyrkayev, I am very grateful to him for material, moral assistance, the provision of a hall for training. Such support gives a good incentive and motivation,  master of sports said at the end of the conversation.

With the successful performance of the athlete congratulated  head of the district S.M. Ibraev. He wished Fanis new victories and achieve his goals.
