Today in Kazan starts the festival of fashion, design and street performance “Okno (Window)”. The festival opens with an exhibition of designer dolls in national costumes, brought from all over Russia. It will be possible to visit the exhibition in the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan from September 26 to 29 from 9:00 to 18:00.
Tomorrow, September 27, the Kazan Heritage University will host a creative competition of Heritage designers. Participants will fight for victory in the following categories: “Ethnographic costume”, “Modern designer costume”, “Stage costume”, and “Doll in national costume”. In addition, they will choose a winner of the grand prix for creative expression, development of new forms of intercultural communication, as well as the transfer of national traditions to the younger generation and a grand prix for professional development of national culture in modern industry. The competition will be held from 10.00 to 13.00.
On the final day of the “Window” festival, September 28, in the square near the theater named after G. Kamal there will be a show “Ah yes, a costume”. Spectators will see a fashion show with bright national costumes. Anyone can see a luxury fashion show.
On the same day, from 14.00 to 15.00 in the lecture zone, Russian designer Yekaterina Borisova will speak with guests on the topic “Tatarstan: the art of living together. The history of the mutual influence of Russian and Tatar costume. ” Everyone can take part in the lecture and discussion.
At the festival in the food court zone you can taste national dishes, at linguistic master classes – learn new words, learn about traditions and rituals held in different countries of the world, and try on national costumes.
Also, guests of the holiday will be able to join the big Tatar tea party. To do this, a long table will be installed on the square near the theater, which can accommodate everyone, and tea will be prepared in a large samovar. For participants who came in national costumes, a treat was prepared – the Kazan cake, which includes the delicious ingredients of the famous Tatar sweets.
