The celebration of the Day of Russia in the city of Berdsk in the Novosibirsk oblast this year was marked by holding the City Festival of National Cultures.
Its main difference from international festivals held earlier is that the initiators and organizers were the Berdsk national cultural autonomies and the Friendship House of the Berdsky Historical and Art Museum. Otherwise, the city festival will continue all the glorious traditions of the popular international holiday.
The festival program will open on Gorky Square at 14:00 with national exhibitions. Here, during the master classes, you can learn the basics of folk crafts such as weaving on bobbins, felting, knitting rugs, and learn how to play backgammon.
There are mini-football competitions and a cheerful family relay race coming from 15:00 to 17:00 on the sports grounds of the park, and on the dance floor from 16:30 to 17:00 you can play national games. On the park alleys young Berdians will be offered to pass the fascinating quest “EthnoBerdsk” and show their talents in the contest of drawings on the asphalt. The most successful participants will certainly receive prizes!
Also, commemorative gifts and diplomas will be given to winners of the competitions held on the eve of the festival: contests of drawings, handicrafts, lullabies and art reading. One of them was a contest for the name and logo of the festival. Who won in it, and what would our festival of national cultures be called, we learn at the grand opening of the festival at 5:00 pm on the big stage of Gorky Square.
The opening will continue a large concert program, in which more than 11 nationalities will present their songs and dances. Together with the Berdian artists on the stage will perform guests: the Chuvash team “Hen Hill” from the Kemerovo region, vocal groups from Linevo and Akademgorodok.
The festival will finish at 21:00, its finale promises to be bright and memorable!
