The pre-New Year meeting of the executive committee of the Chelyabinsk region’s Tatar Congress begins by summing up the results. And the reasons for pride in the outgoing year were not a few – new books were published, numerous holidays and concerts were held. Constant projects of the Congress of Tatars of the Chelyabinsk region – a contest of readers dedicated to Musa Jalil, “Tatarochka”, “Udaloj dzhigit” and “Little Pearls” – became even more interesting and even bigger. – Such holidays unite us. Adults and children got together. They participate in our holidays. We work together, and together we go forward, “says Valya Zagidullina, the head of the Zlatoust branch of the Tatar Congress of the Chelyabinsk region. The local branches of the Congress of the Tatars, who now are working in many cities and districts of the region, will also have exceptionally pleasant memories of 2017. Their events always gather full auditoriums. They feel the support not only of the leadership of the Congress, but also of the local authorities.
Florida Buzueva, the head of the Satka Tatar-Bashkir cultural center, says: “The year 2017 was the most successful, most successful and most joyful year, because we took part in all regional competitions. Our girl, Rosalina Tuktarova, became the winner of the regional contest of beauty and talent “Tatar kyzi”, represented the South Ural during the final of the international contest, we went to support her in Ufa. Success inspires new plans. Next year for the Congress of the Tatars will be special. The most mass national public organization in the Chelyabinsk region will turn 20 years old. The anniversary will be an occasion to remember the past and look into the future.
– A lot of events are planned, including the Solemn meeting, which will be held in March at the Naum Orlov drama theater. We want to remember all the people who stood at the origins of the Tatar Congress of Chelyabinsk region, those who created it and continue to work for many years, – shared the plans Lena Kolesnikova, the chairman of the Congress of Tatars of the Chelyabinsk region.
In the plans there are also new projects that can become traditional. In autumn, the first Tatar festival in Chelyabinsk is planned. It has already been decided to revive the Tatar amateur theater. With impatience the South Urals await the installation of the monument to Gabdulla Tukay. – This is our long-term dream, it is the aspirations of many generations of Tatars living in the Chelyabinsk region. The monument, I hope, will be opened this year on the birthday of the city of Chelyabinsk, – says Lena Kolesnikova. All those who made a significant contribution to the work this year received thank-you letters. Several activists have been marked even by the World Congress of Tatars! But they also did not remain in debt. Activists of the regional branch of the public movement “Ak Kalfak” presented Lena Kolesnikova with their gift, sincere and touching – woolen hand-made socks. Things made by themselves – they are sure – are able to give and warmth. And let next year it will be as much as possible!
