Tatar folklore-ethnographic ensemble Ak kalfak from village Urmikeevo of Nizhneserginsky region in late January will celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The ensemble ” Ak kalfak ” takes an active part in the national-cultural life of the Tatars of the Sverdlovsk region. Participating in numerous competitions , repeatedly won prizes not only at the level of the Sverdlovsk region, but all over Russia. Thus, in 2010 and 2011, it a laureate of II degree of All-Russian Festival of Tatar folklore Tygyarek uyen, and the past year of 2013 brought the ensemble a deserved title of a winner of I degree at the aforementioned festival.

Repertoire of Ak kalfak group – old songs and dances of Ural Tatars. Like clothes, they have been preserved for a long time. Artistic director of the ensemble of folk music of the Republic of Tatarstan, RT People’s Artist, Honored Artist of Russia, Professor Aidar Faizrakhmanov when he saw the dance of Urmikeev Tatars he was impressed by the uniqueness of these dances. Having studied folk art, he put it on a professional stage.
