From July 19 to 21 in Kazan the IX All-Russian Forum of Tatar religious figures is held

Press release of the 9th All-Russian Forum of Tatar religious figures “National Identity and Religion”

Public organization “World Congress of Tatars” from July 19 to 21, 2018 is holding in Kazan the IX All-Russian Forum of Tatar religious figures “National Identity and Religion”. This year the event is held as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of a famous religious figure and scholar Shigabutdin Mardjani.
At the IX All-Russian Forum 1100 representatives of the clergy and guests from the Republic of Tatarstan and 70 regions of the Russian Federation have been invited.
The work of the Forum will be concentrated in 4 sectional sessions:
- Identification of the famous sacred sites associated with the Islamic religion and the development of tourist routes;
- Experience and problems accumulated in the field of religious education of children;
- The implementation of the concept of “Islam and the Tatar world”;
- The role of religious figures in the identification and revival of the spiritual heritage of the Tatar people.
The results of the sectional work will be summed up at the plenary session of the Forum. Based on the results of the Forum, a general resolution will be adopted, reflecting the position of delegates on issues of concern to them.
Plenary session is scheduled for July 20 in the building of the State TV and Radio Company “Korston-Kazan” with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan RN. Minnikhanov.
July 21, representatives of the clergy will participate in the event “Izge Bolgar zhyeny” in the city of Bulgar, Spassky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Reference: In September 2010, Kazan hosted the first forum of Tatar religious figures, which gathered more than 700 representatives from 40 constituent
entities of the Russian Federation. Such a large-scale event involving authoritative imams, muftis, mukhtisibs and other figures of the Islamic clergy was prepared and conducted by the efforts of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars and the Department for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. The leaders of the DUM RT, the Council of Muftis of Russia and the Central Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Russia provided active support in organizing the event.
