April 3, 2014, a meeting with Grandmaster Gata Kamsky, Alisa Galliamova and other players of male and female teams of the Republic of Tatarstan in chess took place at the premises of the Central Sports School of Chess n.a. R. Nezhmetdinov. April 7 , they began to perform in Russian team chess championship. U.S. resident, Gata Kamsky played on the first board for the Republic of Tatarstan.

However, this is not the first meeting of Gata Kamsky with Kazan chess fans. 22 years ago, with the assistance of the Russian parliament, deputy Rinat Mukhamadiev, Gata and Rustem Kamsky came to Kazan to discuss the possibility of performance of this outstanding chess player for the Republic of Tatarstan.
