In the capital of Tatarstan the 15th Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema is over. The musical “Song of the Tree” by Kyrgyz director Aybek Dayyrbekov was recognized as the best feature film.
The Cup of the International Kazan Muslim Film Festival and a certificate of 1 million rubles instead of the director were received on the stage by program director of the XV KIFMC Sergey Lavrentiev.
The best short feature film recognized “Bright Moon” by Nepalese director Abinasha Bikram Shah.
Among the full-length documentary films, the film “Favorite” by Iranian director Yaser Talebi was the best. And the film “The Teacher” of another Kyrgyz director, Ibadylly Adzhibayev, was recognized as the best short documentary.
The jury considered “Complicated Pattern” by the director from Tatarstan Ilshat Rakhimbay the best national film.
“This is a documentary film about a person whom everyone in Tatarstan knows, a film about Tatarstan national artist Gulzada Safiullina – she is a worthy woman, and it is a worthy movie,” said Evelina Guretskaya, a member of the Guild of Film Critics and Film Critics.
The competition program of the XV KIFMC was attended by 55 films from around the world. The film festival began in Kazan on April 24 and ended on April 30.
