Iftar of the Union of muslim women of Russia held in Kazan

On the 21st day of the month of Ramadan, a large-scale iftar organized by the Union of Muslim Women of Russia took place in Kazan. It brought together 500 women from different regions of the country — of various ages, professions, and interests.

Before the majlis began, a colorful fair of Tatar craftswomen was held in the foyer, where handmade items were offered for sale, including jewelry, clothing items, and confectionery products.

The iftar began with the recitation of the Quran — the verses were performed by well-known Tatar preacher Zulfat Khazrat Gabdullin, Deputy Director of the Muhammadiya Madrasa. He also addressed the guests with a meaningful sermon about the value of the month of Ramadan, the observance of fasting, and made a du’a for the fallen and current participants of the special military operation, their families, and for the well-being of the homeland.

After that, the participants were welcomed by Chairwoman of the Union of Muslim Women of Russia Nailya Khanum Ziganshina, honored guests, and active Muslim women who have distinguished themselves in various fields.

The speeches were interspersed with creative performances by well-known performers of nasheeds and munajats — a children’s group led by Gulnaz Gafurova, as well as a duet of Marsel Vagizov and Marat Galimov.

The culmination of the majlis was a raffle for a trip to perform Umrah.
