According to the rector of Kazan Federal Uuniversity Ilshat Gafurov, today at the university 890 people   are receiving  education in the Tatar language. Most of them will become specialists in Tatar philology  and the Tatar language. Part of 890 people are students of national journalism. For  the last two years, admission to this specialty is carried out through targeted recruitment.

– After all, our task is to train specialists, and the task of employers is to form an order for them. If the Tatar media are interested in Tatar-speaking personnel, then we are ready to accept their order. Thank God for now we have such an opportunity, ”Gafurov said.

In addition, according to the decree of the State Advisor to Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, the university has been implementing a program of training specialists in the field of multilingual education for the second year. 140 people selected by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tatarstan will be trained on a budgetary basis at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication in three languages: Tatar, Russian and English, and after graduation they will work in poly-ligational educational institutions for at least 3 years.

“No matter how we are criticized about everything national, no one except KFU will train specialists in the Tatar language,” Gafurov concluded.
