In a settlement Bazlovo of the Spassky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region the first phase of a Jubilee Festival of Tatar folk art “Milli Koy”, dedicated to the works of two great singers, people from the Nizhny Novgorod region, and Rashit Vagapov and Haidar Bigichev were held. The organizers of the festival are the RT Ministry of culture and Ministry of inner regional and municipal policy of Mizhny Novgorod oblast, the national-cultural autonomy of Tatars of Nizhny Novgorod Region Administration and the Spassky district.

On the 1 stage of the festival those groups performed , who had passed selecting in their own districts. More than 70 applications have been submitted, and on the scene that day only 155 participants peroformed. Their performance has been evaluated by a competent jury headed by People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, the widow of Haidar Bigichev – Zuhra Sakhabieva-Bigichev, a winner of the International Competition of the singer-accordionist Ilnur Ganiev, Deputy Chief of “Suyumbike” editor Ramsay Kashapov, a winner of many festivals and competitions, folk singer and poetess Tanzila Nurullina.

The purpose of this festival is to preserve the culture, traditions, language Tatar population of Nizhny Novgorod region – as one of the representatives of indigenous peoples.

The representatives of Sergach, Spassky, Krasnoktyabrsky, Pilninsky districts showed by their worthy performances that in the regions of compact residence of the Tatars live those who are able to preserve and increase the cultural heritage.

The highlight of the festival in Bazlovo was, of course, the performance by the People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, the widow of Haidar Bigichev – Zuhra Sakhabieva-Bigicheva and singer-accordionist Ilnur Ganiev.
