In Bolgar, at the White Mosque, festivities were held to mark the Mawlid al-Nabi. A fete was held under the auspices of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Councillor Mintimer Shaimiev, head of the Central Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia Talgat Tadzhutdin, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, chairman of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan Mufti Kamil Samigullin , religious leaders from all over Russia, representatives of the Muslim clergy, politicians and public figures of Russia, etc.

January 2, 2014, by the Muslim lunar calendar Hijri, one of the revered months – Rabiul – Awwal commenced, in which the Prophet Muhammad was born. January 12, the Muslim world meets holiday Mawlid al-Nabi. Throughout the month, in the mosques and madrassas of Tatarstan festivities are accompanied by stories and qasidas about life of the Prophet Muhammad and his supporters, by praising God and the glorifications of the prophet, religious hymns and reading the Holy Quran.

Today, at White Mosque, in Bolgar held important festival on the occasion of Mawlid an-Nabi.
