June 25 in the village of Sagan-Nur for the seventh time a colorful Tatar cultural and sports festival was staged.
Sabantui is a traditional holiday of the Spring Festival, preceded by sowing works. This year in Buryatia it was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the first Tatar professional chef, famous cook Yunus Akhmetzyanov, as well as the 90th anniversary of the Mukhorshibir district of the republic.
Traditionally, guests of the holiday get acquainted with the original culture of the Tatar people, taste the national cuisine, watch spectacular national sports, theatrical performance and folk dances.
The festival was attended by delegations from the regions of the republic, as well as from the cities of Usolye-Siberian and Angarsk, Irkutsk region, from the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Also on the holiday high-ranking guests appeared.
– We are holding a unifying festival of Tatars, we gathered to talk with each other and remember traditions. In Buryatia, the Tatars are the third largest nation after the Buryats and Russians. They are friendly, beautiful and strong people. I myself grew up in the village of Sharaldai in the Mukhorshibir district and a third of my classmates are Tatars. The government of the republic does a lot to not forget the roots, but most importantly when the public supports their foundations, then the culture is alive, the people are alive. Allow me, on behalf of the acting head of Buryatia, Alexey Sambuyevich, to wish you health and congratulate you on the occasion! – congratulated those present on the holiday, Pyotr Noskov, head of the administration of the head and government of Buryatia.
The festive concert was performed by leading Tatar collectives of the republic – folklore groups “Almagach Chachaklary” and “Shatlyk” of Mukhorshibirsky district, “Akkoshlar” and “Altyn kaliapush” of the Zaigraevsky district. And the evening program was a youth disco “Chak-chak party”.
