On May 21, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan presented holiday gifts on behalf of the government and the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 to veterans of war, home front, the blockade – today, in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region survived only 61 people.

Though many veterans are not able to come themselves for gifts, there were those who gladly agreed to a meeting with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan. A lot of thanks have been passed by veterans to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. They noted that the Republic of Tatarstan would never forget their heroes, pays constant attention to the veterans-Tatarstaners, who live outside the republic.
