In St. Petersburg, the grand opening of “National Cultural Home” Luch-Nur ” will be held.

This is the first Tatar national-cultural center in the whole of the North-West of Russia. The building with total area of 1,000 square meters was built exclusively at the expense of the Tatar businessman, philanthropist Alimov Abdulbyar Abdulhakovich. A. A. Alimov is engaged in charitable activities: assists boarding houses, schools and so forth. In addition, assists Tatar public organizations of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region in many areas of activity, carries out extensive work on preservation and development of the Tatar national culture region.

The building of national cultural home will be space for seminars, conferences, round tables, cultural and leisure activities, classes for teaching the Tatar choreography and singing. The space will be allocated for the prayer hall.

Later, in the same building, it is planned to open the store and Muslim Tatar national clothes, Tatar CDs, souvenirs and literature. The courses will be held in Tatar, Tatar cookery courses and the work of women’s club. Separately, the National Library will create a fund that will target all age groups. Experience of such centers shows a large role in their preservation and development of the Tatar national culture and preservation of identity and spirituality of the Tatar people building a culture of interethnic communication.

The solemn event will be held on Dec. 19, 2015, at St. Petersburg, Krasnoselsky district, Lenin Avenue 103.
