The traditional technology of the “Kazan seam” is defined as an object of intangible cultural heritage and sent for inclusion in the relevant federal register. This was announced by the first Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Yulia Adgamova. She said that the decision was made as a result of the first meeting of the Expert Council.

The “Kazan (Tatar) seam” is a way of connecting the details of the leather butt-to-butt. This technology is not fixed in the contemporary art of other peoples and is a unique phenomenon for Russian culture.

According to the results of monitoring in 2022, the total number of recorded objects of intangible cultural heritage in the republic reaches 164.
