At the ongoing IX Congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan in Kazan today, the Mufti of the republic was re-elected. Kamil Hazrat Samigullin was unanimously chosen for the position.

A total of 1,520 imams are participating in the congress. Among the attendees are the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov; Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, Vasil Shaykhraziev; the Supreme Mufti of Russia and Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, Talgat Hazrat Tadzhuddin; and other prominent figures.
