Kazan has won the right to host the 17th World Conference of the League of Historical Cities. This was on the business Monday meeting at the mayor’s office of the capital of Tatarstan, director of the Tourism Promotion Committee of the city of Kazan Daria Sannikova informed.
The capital of the republic became a participant of the 16th World Conference of the League of Historic Cities, which was held from September 7 to 9, 2018 in the Turkish city of Bursa. The conference is being held by the international organization of the League of Historical Cities, a full member of which Kazan has been since 2001. This year representatives of 40 cities from 29 countries of the world took part in the event.
For the right to hold the next conference in 2020, 8 cities took part. Each city has prepared a presentation. Kazan at the international event was presented by first deputy head of the municipal formation of Evgeny Lodvigov, Daria Sannikova said.
