At the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, which is held these days in the capital of Tatarstan, there was a nice trend – every year during the festival films are shown by Tatars living outside Tatarstan, including the history and life of the Tatars abroad.
This year, two films of our compatriots from abroad entered the competition program in a category “short documentary.” The first – documentary by Nasur Yurushbaev “Two prisoners: Javid and Walter” two prisoners of the camps during the Second World War.

The second tape, also documentary by Ramil Belyaev “Izge Miras” (Heritage Sacred) from Finland will be shown the day before – September 6th. The author of idea, screenwriter and director of the film is imam of the Tatar community in Finland Ramil Belyaev.
The film tells the history of the mosque and the Tatars of Finnish city of Jarvenpaa. It is worth noting that the mosque built by the Tatars in 1943, is the only mosque with a minaret in the whole of Finland.

In order to present their films at the festival, Ramil Belyayev and Nasur Yurushbaev came to Kazan. After watching the film everyone will be able to ask them questions related to the creation of tapes.
