January 14, 2019
“Kem min, Tatars bulmagach” (“Who am I, if not a Tatar”) – Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaikhraziev proposed such a slogan for the Strategy for Development of the Tatar People. Today, the next meeting of the working group on development of a strategic document of the Tatar nation was held at the World Congress of Tatars.
We remind that a draft document has already been developed; now it will be finalized through repeated discussions. This week there will be presentations in the regions of Tatarstan, then meetings with Tatar activists in the federal districts of the Russian Federation are scheduled.
The first ground works defining the direction of the development of the Tatar people were proposed by scientists from the Shigabutdin Mardzhani History Institute, the Galimdzhan Ibrahimov Institute of Language, Literature and Art, the Tatar Encyclopedia Institute, the Institute of Tatar Encyclopedia, the Institute named after Khalikov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and employees of the Kazan Federal University.
Vasil Shaikhraziev stressed today that the project is still far away, as long as it is only a draft of a document. According to him, this is a living organism, which can be transformed and supplemented in the course of discussions.
If we hear good suggestions, they will immediately be added to this sketch. We have set the main direction. Then the word for the people comes. In a week, 2 times we will meet with the people and listen to their opinions and suggestions. This document is needed not only for us, but for any Tatar. Therefore, we must develop this document together, – said Vasil Shayhraziev.
He again acquainted the developers with the progress of the work to be done in the next 8 months. After discussions in the regions of the republic, it is necessary to cover all regions of Russia. Already on February 15, the first meeting will take place in Yekaterinburg and further 6 more federal districts. Until the end of March, plans to cover the whole country.
Until June 10, we will work carefully on the project. On June 13-14, at the forum of religious leaders, we will discuss it with the Clergy and then in Bolgar on Izga Bolgar Kyuy we should already submit a project. By mid-August, the document should be finalized and the Strategy should be adopted by the Day of the Republic, said chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars.
According to him, now it is necessary to create a Council and working groups on directions. Each of the developers must decide in which direction it will work. At the meeting, a proposal was made to hold one of the meetings in Kazan. It was also proposed to develop a glossary – i.e. identify key issues for discussion participants.
Vasil Shaykhraziev also proposed a slogan for the strategic document of the Tatar people – “Kem min, Tatar bulmasam”. However, the opinion of the participants in this issue was ambiguous. Many options have been proposed. Executive Director of the Association for the Promotion of Tatar Entrepreneurs Farit Urazaev noted that it would be more appropriate to choose a slogan associated with our place of residence, our native land – for example, “Big Tatarstan” (Zur Tatarstan, Olug Tatarstan)
Political analyst Ruslan Aisin proposed using the concept of “Tatar world”. This will be politically correct, he noted, since, going beyond the borders of Tatarstan, we will not be able to appeal only to the concept associated with our republic.
“Who bulyrmy min Tatar bulmasam” – it was proposed to also consider this option slogan. It was also noted that the social institution should be fundamental in the Strategy – the Tatar family, on which the preservation of the nation and language depends. It was also proposed to slightly modify the slogan proposed by Vasil Shaykhraziev on the “Kem min, Tatar bulmagach.”
“The Great Tatar Country” is another suggestion regarding the slogan, voiced by the clergy.
However, Vasil Shaykhraziev marked that the developers of the document should, first of all, work not for officials, but try to convey their thoughts to each Tatar. And the slogan should be capacious and find an echo in the soul of any representative of the Tatar nation.
