The World Educational Action to test literacy in the Tatar language “Tatarcha Dictation” took place at the Kazan Federal University. The main venue for the event was the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of KFU.

In addition to students and schoolchildren, the first deputy chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars – head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Danis Shakirov, chairman of the World Tatar Youth Forum Lenaria Muslyumova, poet, laureate of the Musa Jalil Prize Bulat Ibragimov, tried their hand.

The campaign dates back to 2015, the current dictation is the eighth in a row.

One of the innovations of this dictation was the choice of text authors. According to the chairman of the World Tatar Youth Forum, this year they decided to focus on modern writers.

In total, “Tatarcha dictation” includes texts of three levels – for Russian-language schools, Tatar schools and for Tatar-speaking people living abroad.
