“Min tatarcha seyleshem!” campaign to be held at the new Kamal theatre

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the “Min tatarcha seyleshem!” (I Speak Tatar!) campaign, and it comes with a new location. The flagship event of the World Forum of Tatar Youth will take place in front of the new Kamal Theatre building (74 Khadi Taktash Street).

The campaign is scheduled for April 26, which coincides with both Gabdulla Tukay’s birthday and Native Language Day. As in previous years, the program will feature school quizzes, city quests, live performances by contemporary alternative Tatar music artists, and the satirical “It’s Hard with Tatar” anti-award, presented to government institutions that fail to offer services in both of Tatarstan’s official languages — Tatar and Russian.

Previously, the campaign was held on Bauman pedestrian street until 2022, then moved to the old Kamal Theatre. In 2024, it took place for the first time in the Administrative Offices of the Kazan Kremlin.
