Moscow college students in Kasimov

On Monday, March 7, 2016, a group of students and listeners of the Moscow Islamic college by number 31 people visited the a historic town of Kasimov. This is not the first visit by students to the capital of the ancient capital of the Khanate of Kasimov. The guests visited Kasimov Historical and Cultural Museum – Reserve (History Museum), located in the House Alyanchikov and the famous museum of samovars. Students visited Khan – Old Tatar mosque with a minaret of year 1476, where read out a prayer of greeting the mosque / masjid-tahiyatul /, and then read the prayer at the functional mosque of Kasimov and dined.

Chief researcher of Kasimov Historical and Cultural Museum – Reserve Olesya Balashova acquainted visitors with the life of Kasimov Tatars and the Russian population, industry, past and present unique city. Angelica – a guide of tours of the museum of samovars told a lot of interesting things. Before Khan mosque imam muhtasib of the Ryazan region Rashid Hazrat Bultacheev spoke about the history of the mosque, its restoration and today’s activity.

Recently, Kasimov has received the diploma of the winner of the special prize of the Russian Library Association for the

formation of information and cultural environment of the city and was awarded the diploma of I All-Russian competition “Cultural Capital of Russia-2015, small towns” in a nomination “The creative initiative.” By order of Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation a historic settlement – one of the 41 towns was approved. Kasimov is also one of the five “frontier” towns, among them – Vetluga, Kineshma, Kasimov, Alatyr, Kozmodemyansk. More recently, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation signed a Decree “On approval of the boundaries of the territory of historical settlement and protection of federal subject the city of Kasimov, Ryazan region.”

Muslim youth, being people of different nationalities and natives of different regions, on the example of Kasimov were able to see firsthand understanding and the neighborhood of two different nations and religions, co-existing together in the same small town. It serves as a model for strengthening mutually respectful relationships between people of different nationalities and religions.
