“Myths and legends of the Tatar people”: an immersion into history at the Babich library

The Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy of Chelyabinsk and the Union of Tatar Youth of the region organized an enlightening lecture on the legends of the Tatar people. The event was held at the Babich Library of Tatar and Bashkir Culture, which has become a cozy venue for dialogue between generations.

The lecturer was historian and Ural State University of Physical Culture (USUFC) instructor Denis Farkhutdinov, an active participant in the cultural projects of the autonomy and the union. He spoke about the myths, heroic epics, and mysterious creatures of Tatar folklore: from Shurale to stories of ancient warriors. The guests were shown rare archival photographs and maps.

“Such meetings are a step towards encouraging young people to take pride in their roots,” noted Denis Farkhutdinov.
