The Naberezhnochelny Philharmonic has secured a grant from the President of the Russian Federation. These funds will be allocated for the production of a new play, as well as for the purchase of musical instruments and sound equipment.
The project, titled “The Mystery of the wings of Sak-Sok”, is a children’s Tatar musical that has been recognized as one of the top 100 projects in the country. It aims to preserve Tatar cultural traditions and language for children aged 7 to 14. The primary goal is to educate the younger generation about the uniqueness and richness of Tatar culture, ensuring it is preserved and passed down through generations.
The plot of the musical is based on a legend about two brothers who transformed into birds and, while far from their homeland, forgot their native language. The music for the production has been composed by contemporary Tatar composer Ilyas Kamal, while the literary foundation is drawn from an ancient legend about the Sak-Sok brothers, retold by Tatar writer Roza Khafizova.
As part of this project, several performances are planned for residents of Naberezhnye Chelny and Yelabuga. The creative team will consist of young artists from the Mizgel song theatre, alongside professional musicians from the Philharmonic Society.
