In the “Kazan Carved Platbands” square in Kazan, on May 31, the opening of the tenth anniversary season of the festival for the restoration of the historical environment, “Tom Sawyer Fest – Kazan,” will take place. Guests will learn about plans for the summer season, be introduced to new exhibits from the Museum of Carved Platbands, and watch a theatrical performance.

Actors from the Kazan Youth Theater will perform an excerpt from the play “Tom Sawyer Paints the Fence” and will read poems by Kazan poets. Additionally, architect Inessa Fakhrutdinova will conduct a creative workshop for children.

The organizers invite all citizens who care about the historical environment. The event will start at 12:00 p.m.

As a reminder, the team of coordinators and partners of the volunteer festival “Tom Sawyer Fest – Kazan” will recreate a historic tea pavilion in the Fuksovsky Garden, which stood in the park over 100 years ago. Preparation for the pavilion’s reconstruction will begin in August and will take place at the “Tom Sawyer Fest – Kazan” workshop on Volkova Street.
