This year, the “Nurly Ramadan” contest for the best decoration of public places in honor of the blessed month of Ramadan is being held in Tatarstan for the fourth time.

Everyone is welcome to create and preserve the atmosphere of the holy month in the republic. The contest invites any public, commercial, non-profit, private, budgetary, and religious organizations of the republic that operate as public service points – such as cafes and restaurants, shops and shopping centers, salons, mosques, educational institutions, libraries, office buildings, outdoor venues, residential premises, etc., as well as individuals.

The prize for the best festive exterior decoration is a Hajj tour package from the official Hajj operator “DUM RT Hajj”. All finalists of the contest will also receive honorary diplomas and memorable gifts.

According to the contest rules, the decoration of entrance groups and exteriors of public places must be maintained until the end of the month of Ramadan.

The venue and time of the awards ceremony will be communicated to the contest finalists additionally.

Applications for participation are accepted from contestants in electronic format via the link, specifying the full name of the head, the name and actual address of the organization, as well as photos of the festive exterior decoration and contact information.

The criteria for selecting the best exterior decoration are:

• Use of Islamic symbols and symbols of Ramadan;

• Originality and innovation;

• Scale;

• Aesthetic appeal;

• Conceptual approach to decoration;

• Use of modern lighting design technologies.

Background.

The “Nurly Ramadan” contest for the best decoration of public places on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan has generated great interest among the residents of the republic. In 2023, 27 locations across Tatarstan were decorated as part of the contest, in 2024 – 52 locations, and in 2025 – 38 locations. Thus, the number of people wishing to create and preserve the atmosphere of the holy month in the republic has reached 117. Active participants include mosques and Islamic educational institutions, as well as residents of private houses. It is gratifying that among the contestants there are also those who decided to participate again; in this way, they are setting a new tradition in the republic – creating the atmosphere of Ramadan on the streets. According to the contest results, in 2023 the absolute winner was the Saetov family, in 2024 – the private house of Mukmina Khabibullina from the village of Tuembash, Kukmorsky district, and in 2025 – the Gazymov family, who decorated their private family home in the village of Balanny, Muslyumovsky district. They became the owners of the main prize – a Hajj tour package from the official Hajj operator “DUM RT Hajj”. Their homes met all the contest selection criteria: the use of Islamic symbols and symbols of Ramadan; originality and innovation; scale; aesthetic appeal; a conceptual approach to decoration; and the use of modern lighting design technologies.
