Organizing Committee Meeting for the Preparation of the XXV Federal Sabantuy Held in Yakutsk

On May 28, a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and hosting of the XXV Federal Sabantuy in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) took place in Yakutsk. The meeting was chaired by Sergey Mestnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by Danis Shakirov, Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars and Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. In his speech, he emphasized the special significance of the XXV Federal Sabantuy, noting that the festival will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. According to him, the upcoming Sabantuy in Yakutsk will not merely be a festive event, but an important milestone with deep historical and cultural meaning.

In turn, Radmir Belyaev, Head of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District, highlighted that Sabantuy is not just a festival, but a profound tradition that reflects the agricultural cycle and symbolizes the completion of sowing work. He went on to share his impressions from visiting the Ysyakh Tuymaada in Yakutsk in 2022.

The festive events will take place on June 13–14, 2025, on Komsomolskaya Square in Yakutsk, featuring such venues as the Tuymaada Stadium and the Park of Culture and Leisure. The Sabantuy program includes performances by amateur groups from Yakutia and Tatarstan, sports competitions, folk games, exhibitions, contests, and treats of traditional national dishes. Special attention will be given to the national wrestling sport, koresh — the winner of this competition will receive a car as a prize.

The large-scale festival promises to be not only a spectacular event, but also an important platform for strengthening cultural and economic ties between the regions, as well as for fostering interethnic dialogue and mutual understanding.
