Over 36,000 people attended the “DARTFest 2024” festival of modern Tatar culture

On the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Day of the City of Kazan, the 2nd edition of the festival of modern Tatar culture, “DARTFest 2024”, was held at the Kazan Kremlin.

The festival featured 7 organized venues: the Big and Small stages, a market showcasing craftsmen and designers, a Fashion Show, the “Akyl fabrikasy” lecture series, as well as Family and Children’s areas.

Throughout the day, master classes and interactive sessions were conducted by skilled artisans from Kazan and Tatarstan in the courtyard of the Attendance Hall. Nearby, the Big Stage traditionally hosted performances by major indie bands from Tatarstan, including Juna, Azat Gilmetdin, and Yummy Music Band under the direction of Yuri Fedorov.

A highlight of this stage’s program was a tribute to Zula Kamalova, performed by Kazan musicians Radif Kashapov, Yusuf Bikchantaev, Timur Milyukov, Ilyas Farhullin, Alexander Ablaev, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Aidar Abdrakhimov, Ilgiz Shaykhraziev, Elina, and Al Su.

Festival guests had the opportunity to explore products from designers and craftsmen, as well as offerings from game producers and publishing houses in the Tatar language. As is customary, visitors could admire clothing and accessories adorned with traditional Tatar patterns and inscriptions, along with ceramics, wooden items, leather goods, and exquisite jewelry.

The “Akyl fabrikasy” lecture theatre, organized with the support of the World Tatar Youth Forum, featured a series of open talks, discussions, and interviews covering various topics.

The Fashion Show was a vibrant affair, showcasing unique collections from 16 designers from Tatarstan. Notable brands represented on the catwalk included Aigel Salakh, Naiman, Buro Banu, Ismail, Elvina Davli, Nailya Borhan, among others.

It is noteworthy that more than 36,000 people visited the Kazan Kremlin on August 30th.
