The 8th All-Russian Forum of Tatar Journalists is currently taking place in Kazan. Today, the delegates spent the day in the Arsk District, with the final stop of their visit being the Gabdulla Tukay Arsk Pedagogical College.
This educational institution is one of the leading colleges in the region, training professionals in the field of education and actively contributing to the preservation and development of the Tatar language and culture. The college not only prepares qualified specialists but also serves as an important cultural center, organizing events and projects aimed at promoting Tatar heritage.
The visit to the Arsk Pedagogical College became a significant and inspiring conclusion to the trip. The delegates were given a tour of the “Elifba” (Alphabet) Museum, established at the college in 1999. The museum boasts a rich collection of exhibits illustrating the emergence and evolution of writing systems of the world’s peoples from ancient times to the present day. It features extensive material on various graphic systems and alphabets.
The museum’s foundation was built upon the educational and creative work of the college’s teachers Saleh Gatatovich Vagizov and Ramziya Gilyazovna Valitova, who are also the authors of the Tatar-language primer “Elifba”, first published in 1965. They have written and contributed 43 books, including textbooks and methodological guides, all of which are displayed in the museum.
After the tour, participants summed up the results of the 8th All-Russian Forum of Tatar Journalists, sharing their impressions and reflections:
“Arsk District is a model for lovers of Tatar literature! Many thanks to the organizers for the warm welcome and to the girls who accompanied us. This forum was particularly inspiring. It’s important for us to learn how to work with artificial intelligence and to use information correctly. The Tatar press must stay at the forefront!”
— Fail Kamilovich Fathtdinov, Editor-in-Chief of “Kyzyl Tan” (Ufa).
“Our native land has given us great figures such as Mukhammet Magdeev and Garif Akhunov. I am deeply grateful to my homeland. It laid the foundation that has guided me throughout my life. Today I am even more impressed — thank you so much!”
— Favia Akhtyamovna Safiullina, Editor-in-Chief of “Saf Chishma” (Ulyanovsk Region).
“Your literary language and eloquence are remarkable. The emotions we experienced here we will share with our colleagues and loved ones. Many thanks to the World Congress of Tatars and to Arsk District!”

“Our profession comes with many challenges, but Tatarstan always gives us strength and inspiration. We came to the forum, shared our experiences and plans, communicated, and united — for this, we are very grateful to the World Congress of Tatars. Once, my younger sister asked me what language I think in, and I said: in Tatar. I think in Tatar, I write in Tatar.”
