On April 4 at 4:00 PM, a presentation of the book “Yoldyzlar kalka” (Stars Rise) by Garif Akhunov will take place at the Tatar Book House. The event will be held as an evening in memory of the People’s Writer of Tatarstan and Tukay Prize laureate Garif Akhunov, his wife, writer Guldshahida Akhunova (Maksudova), and writer and translator Rashid Akhunov.
Guests will be told about two new books: a collection of prose by Garif Akhunov titled “Yoldyzlar kalka” in the Tatar language, and a book in Russian titled “Prose of Tatar Writers: Garif Akhunov. Guldshahida” (2026, compiled by Nailya Akhunova, literary editor Boris Vayner).
The program includes performances by authors from the Garif Akhunov Literary Association, musical pieces by Tatar composers performed by Larisa Bus and Irina Romanova, as well as performances by Guzel Safina (vocals) and Liliya Ziadullina-Galyamova (violin, Associate Professor at the Kazan State Conservatory), both teachers at the children’s music school.
