On 23 October upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who came to Tatarstan to take part in the BRICS Summit, was welcomed by the Rais (Head) of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov.

The Uzbekistan President came by an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin and plans to make an entry at the plenary session in the BRICS Plus format.
