On January 28, Raynur Khasanov, the Chairman of the Public Organization World Forum of Tatar Youth, was a guest on the program “Tayanu Noktasy” (Point of Support). Later, he also spoke on the show “Aktual Енgеmе” (“Current Discussion”), where he addressed an important topic — the preservation of Tatar national heritage and the issue of patenting national folklore heroes such as “Shurale”, “Su Anasy”, and “Kamyr Batyr”.

Unfortunately, certain commercial entities are attempting to register elements of Tatar cultural and spiritual heritage as trademarks. However, we, the Tatar community, must stand against this and protect our national heritage!

We strongly believe that in order to safeguard our national heritage, a National Heritage Registry must be established, officially documenting all national heroes of the Tatar people. In cases where there are attempts to patent them, Rospatent will be able to refer to this database to determine whether a given name belongs to the national heritage.

However, it is crucial to ensure that this registry is legally well-founded and effectively protected. Only a well-structured and professional approach can ensure the preservation of our cultural and spiritual heritage and its transmission to future generations.
