On 11 May, speaking at a traditional Saturday meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “May 9 we with the whole country celebrated the 79th anniversary of the Victory of Soviet people in the WWII and 217 thousand people took part in festive events in all cities and regions of the republic. I would like to thank law-enforcement bodies, heads of municipalities and all organizers from ministries and directorates who were involved in holiday events.”

He reminded that the jubilee 15th International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World” begins in the republic next week and informed that representatives of more than 80 countries of the world and 80 regions of Russia will take part in its 170 events.

Rustam Minnikhanov also reminded about the solemn event of Izge Bolgar Zhyeny (a traditional annual event dedicated to the anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria) to be held on 19 May with participation of leaders of the Muslim Umma of Russia, participants of the All-Russia forum of religious leaders and delegates of the 15th International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World”.

“Law enforcement bodies, the transport system of the region and the hospitality branch will have a huge load. All this should work reliably and at the high level,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.
