Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergei Sobyanin will lay flowers at the monument to Tukay in Moscow

On August 17, within the framework of the Days of Tatarstan Culture in Moscow, the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Gabdulla Tukay will take place. The event will involve the participation of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. This was reported by the press office of the RT Representation in Russia.
The beginning of the ceremony at 17.00.
The monument to Gabdulla Tukay was opened on April 26, 2011 – the birthday of the poet. The monument was installed in Zamoskvorechye – at the former Tatar Sloboda, on Novokuznetskaya Street.
The opening of the monument was the key one in the framework of events dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The monument has been passed to Moscow from the Government of Tatarstan.
The author of the monument, Honored artist of Russia Salavat Shcherbakov. Great help in establishing the monument was rendered by patrons.
