Rustam Minnikhanov meets delegates of the National Assembly of the World Tatar Congress

On 27 August at the World Tatar Congress Executive Committee building, before his meeting with delegates of the National Assembly of the World Tatar Congress, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov talked to former leaders of the World Tatar Congress Indus Tagirov and Rinat Zakirov and the WWII veteran Umid Gubayev who arrived from the Town of Armavir of Krasnodar region. Rustam Minnikhanov thanked them for their substantial contribution into the spiritual development of the Tatars and wished then good health and long years of life.

At their main meeting  moderated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Vasil Shaykhraziev, who is also the Chairman of the National Assembly, delegates and the Rais of the republic discussed key issues related to preservation of national identity, such as strengthening institute of the family, supporting traditional values, promotion of Tatar language among young people  and others.

The participants of the meeting told Rustam Minnikhanov about their projects in the development of technological solutions for Tatar language, studies of history of Tatar settlements and biographies of outstanding persons, the family education, the establishment of the Tatar Family Center in Kazan and organizing a space for implementation of youth initiatives.

Summarizing results of the meeting, Rustam Minikhanov thanked all participants for the work done and gave an errand to work out all proposals in detail. “The future of our people, language, culture and traditions depends on you. You are doing very important and needed work and we will always support you. Our mainstay is our native language. This work is done well in Tatarstan but there are also many Tatars living outside the republic. That is why interaction with them and supporting their national and cultural demands are very important for us,” he concluded.

The National Assembly (Millyat Zgyene) of the World Tatar Congress is held in Kazan from 26 to 28 August with participation of 1000 delegates from 68 regions of Russia and 27 foreign countries.
