On 16 June at their meeting on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian figure skater and Olympic champion Alina Zagitova discussed a project of opening Zagitova’s  figure skating school for talented children in Tatarstan.

Speaking to Alina Zagitova, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “You are a good example for our youth. The republic already has an experience of establishing sports schools in different kinds of sports and we are ready to spread it to other kinds including figure skating.”

At the meeting the parties also agreed that in the nearest future Alina Zagitova will come to Kazan for a more detailed presentation of the sports school project.

Rustam Minnikhanov also emphasized importance of using Alina Zagitova’s sports skills for promotion of figure skating and sports in the whole among young people.
