Tatarstan and the Kurgan region have significant potential for increasing mutual cooperation. In order to expand trade and economic relations, the republic is interested in machine-building, pharmaceutical and agro-industrial enterprises of the Kurgan region. This was announced today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov following the signing of a plan of measures to implement the agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Kurgan region on trade, economic, scientific, technical, socio-cultural cooperation for 2018-2020.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that trade and economic cooperation between Tatarstan and the Kurgan region demonstrates a positive dynamics of growth. The mutual trade reaches 1.2 billion rubles. Tatarstan supplies trucks and cars, glass, food, tractors, tires, pipes, detergents and other products. From the Kurgan region, the republic receives flour, machinery for public utilities, medicines and medical products, buses and mixed fodder.
The plan to implement the agreement between Tatarstan and the Kurgan region will give impetus to bilateral ties in the main areas of joint work, the President of Tatarstan expressed confidence.
Rustam Minnikhanov also thanked the Governor of the region Alexei Kokorin for organizing the All-Russian rural Sabantuy and supporting the activities of the Tatar public organizations in the region. “The administration of the region has great respect for the customs and traditions of all peoples living on its land,” added the President of Tatarstan.
In turn, Alexei Kokorin stressed that the regions have many common interests, especially in the economic sphere. The agreements reached will greatly enhance mutual contacts, he said.
