On 6 November in his address on the occasion of the Day of Tatarstan Constitution, the Rais (Head) of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated residents of Tatarstan with the holiday and said: “This most important document was adopted after a nationwide debate and, at the turn of the eras, became an expression of the will of the multinational people of the republic, united representatives of various political views, ethnicities and confessions and acted as a guarantee of stability.

The Constitution of Tatarstan allowed the formation of a system of state and local self-government bodies, ensured social character of state activities, spiritual revival and development of ethnic cultural and language diversity and supported work of public amalgamations.

Today Tatarstan Constitution is a solid foundation of social-economic and public-political development of the republic and is legal and moral guidelines for citizens.

Interaction of all branches and levels of power, the support of the federal center and personally of Russian President Vladimir Putin make it possible to implement effectively national projects and republican programs, to be an efficient venue for hosting large international and All-Russia events and to bring bold innovative ideas to life.

We consistently raise the life quality of people, transform cities and settlements maintaining traditions and take care for the present and the future of the republic.

The Basic Law of the republic instills in us feelings of patriotism, pride in our history and culture, respect for state symbols and the heritage of our ancestors, and strengthens our unity.”
