Rustem Yakhin: interesting facts from the life of the great Tatar composer

August 16, 1921 in Kazan the  great Tatar composer, pianist and teacher Rustem Yakhin   was born.

Some interesting facts from the life of the hero:

From childhood I was interested in music. In three years he began to perform folk songs on the piano.

At the age of 13 he entered music school and for three years mastered the seven-year program.

He became the author of the anthem of the Republic of Tatarstan and more than 400 works, which make up 21 collections of songs and romances.

During the war he served as a rifleman in the anti-aircraft artillery division.

Rustem Yakhin is the holder  of the state award of the Republic of Tatarstan named  after  Gabdulla Tukaya.

One of the streets of Kazan is named after the great composer.
