On Saturday, June 23, Kazan will celebrate the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy. The festivities will unfold at the forest park area of Lake Lebyazhye and in the Birch Grove of the residential Mirny. Both sites will open at 9.30 and will be open until 16.00.
Ram and car for the best batyr
Guests will enjoy a concert and a national wrestling tournament, the winner, who will receive a ram and a car. In the sports zones of the sites will be 15 national competitions and contests. For children there will be separate grounds with children’s programs.
Creative teams of the districts will be performing on a specially organized rural farmsteads, reflecting the culture and life of the Tatar people.
For visitors will work summer cafes and retail outlets where you can buy souvenirs, national foods and handicrafts.
Horse Racing and Concert at the Hippodrome
After lunch, folk festivities will continue on the territory of the Kazan Hippodrome.
Here at 15.00 horseracing starts. A total of 12 heats are waiting for the audience, after which the guests will be shown a concert.
Public transport
The places of Sabantuy can be reached by public transport. In Birch Grove buses will be sent from four stops:
“Station” Metro Pr. Pobedy “;
“10 microdistrict”;
“Concert Hall of the Philharmonic” on Pavlyukhin;
Glazunov Str. “(Teplocontrol).
On the routes to Bereza Grove there are 73 buses. They will work from 8.00 until the end of the holiday. There is an intraurban tariff in buses. To Sabantuy one can reach also by train from the station “Kazan-1”.
On Lebyazhye lake there will be buses Nos. 36, 46 and 72, as well as from the bus stop. “Rempler” in the village Zalesny – free buses with an interval of 5 minutes.
The buses passing along the Gorky Highway will operate in an enhanced mode – 72 cars will be on the route.
Guests to hippodrome will be taken by trolleybus № 3, and from the bus stop “subway” Prospect of Victory “over the racetrack to the Central Park of Culture and Recreation will operate an additional shuttle.
