This past weekend, on July 6, 2025, the village of Inderka in the Sosnovoborsky District of the Penza Region hosted a grand celebration of the traditional district holiday of Tatar culture — Sabantuy. This year, the festivities took place on the eve of the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, bringing a special warmth and heartfelt spirit to the event.
The celebration opened with a vibrant and memorable performance by the folklore ensemble Bylbylym, winners of the 10th Interregional Song Competition-Festival “When the Gardens Bloom…”.
Welcoming speeches were delivered by Damir Abbyasov, Acting Head of the Administration of Inderka Village Council of the Sosnovoborsky District; Vinera Mukhamedzhanova, Chairwoman of the Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy of the Penza Region; and Bakir Akzhigitov, Chairman of the Penza Regional Public Organization “Tatar Entrepreneurs Club.”
The ceremonial part continued with lively performances by creative groups from the village. Special recognition was given to the hardworking villagers and active members of the Tatar community in the Sosnovoborsky District, who were honored with certificates of appreciation and valuable gifts.
A touching moment of the event was the congratulation of married couples celebrating their golden wedding anniversaries. A representative from the Sosnovoborsky District Registry Office presented them with commemorative gifts and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their enduring example of love, loyalty, and family harmony.
Following the official program, guests eagerly immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere of folk celebrations. The most popular attractions were the sports and children’s areas, which featured traditional games such as “Bag Fights” and “Fun with Yokes.”
We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers of this colorful and memorable event: Deputy of the Local Administration of the Sosnovoborsky District Lyudmila Nikitina, Acting Head of the Inderka Village Council Administration Damir Abbyasov, and Chairwoman of the Tatar Cultural Society of the Sosnovoborsky District Guzelyakhan Shagvaleyeva.
