The Center for Islamic Studies, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, from September 18 to 20, 2019 holds the II International Scientific and Practical Conference: “Ethnoreligious identity of the Tatar people in the context of globalization.”
Within the framework of the event, it is planned to discuss a number of issues related to both the history of formation of the ethno-religious identity of the Tatar people and the problems of its modern transformation. Significant aspects of the scientific discussion will be the interconnection of religious and ethnic identity, the problems of sociocultural changes in civic and ethnic identity, as well as practical aspects of the implementation of the “Development Strategy of the Tatar People”.
Within the framework of the conference, sections and round tables will be held on the following topics:
- Theoretical and conceptual issues of the study of ethno-religious identity;
- Ethnoreligious identity of the Tatar people: features of the relationship;
- Culture and historical memory as factors of the ethnic and religious identity of the Tatars;
- Problems of the development of ethnocultural space in the context of globalization: regional and interethnic aspects;
Ethnologists, ethnographers, sociologists, historians, Islamic scholars, religious scholars, political scientists and other specialists are invited to participate in the conference.
Participants and guests of the event will be able to take part in the cultural program and excursions.
Following the results of the conference, it is planned to publish a collection of articles.
