The “Young Encyclopedist” competition has been organized by the M. Khasanov Institute of Tatar Encyclopedia and Regional Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the editorial board of the “Milliard.Tatar” internet portal, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of Education of the Executive Committee of Kazan, and the World Congress of the Tatars.

The competition is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the Year of Military and Labor Valor in the Republic of Tatarstan, the 140th anniversary of Gabdulla Tukay, and the 120th anniversary of the poet-hero, Hero of the Soviet Union, and laureate of the USSR Lenin Prize, Musa Jalil.

The aim of the Competition is to form the intellectual potential of students in secondary general education institutions by developing skills in independent scientific research and promoting encyclopedic knowledge in various fields of science, education, and culture. The objectives of the competition are: to stimulate cognitive activity and interest in studying popular science and reference literature; to develop skills in searching, critically analyzing, and systematizing information from various sources (books, electronic databases, archives); to teach methods of writing dictionary and encyclopedic articles, etc.

Students in middle and high school grades from general education institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan can participate in the Competition.

Application submission period: from February 2 to March 30, 2026.

REGULATIONS of the Republican Open Competition “Young Encyclopedist”
