January 19, Tatars living in Paris, visited the tomb of the great compatriot, dancer and choreographer Rudolf Nureyev.
Remembrance event at the Russian cemetery of Sainte -Genevieve- des-Bois in the south of Paris was the anniversary of the Rudolf’s Nuriev’s death. A burial place, surrounded by fresh bouquets of flowers, well maintained and regularly visited by admirers and friends of the dancer.
Last years of his life, in 1983, the world-famous choreographer, dancer and conductor Rudolf Nuriev spent in France.
In Tatarstan, he is especially beloved because his mother Farida Nurieva ( Idrissova ) was a native of Alkeevsky region of the republic. Ballet dancer visited historic homeland twice, in March and May 1992, and January 6, 1993, he was gone.
