October 15, 2018
On October 17, the Tatar folk festival “Kaz Omese” will be held on the territory of the “Tatarskaya Estate” complex, the organizers of the event report.
“Kaz Omese” in Russian means “Gusiny pomochi”, or “Goose feather”. This holiday is a significant event in the life of any Tatar village. By tradition, goose meat is harvested for the future and down fluff plucked. Goose is considered the first bird tamed by humans. At the festival, future brides competed among themselves in the skill of oshchip (plucking), jokes and singing, and single guys celebrated the girls who liked it. Then, on the yokes, the women carried their work to the ice-holes — washed cleaned carcasses with icy water.
Visitors to the “Tatar Estate” learn about the skill of dressing a goose and traditions of the holiday. Also, all those who have come will have a drama program, Tatar folk dances and songs, tea and zur-byallesh from goose meat. According to the tradition, at the end of the tea drinking will be held with a real koimak from the oven.
