The national Tatar holiday Sabantuy was solemnly celebrated in the Khachmaz region of Azerbaijan. Tatar national music and dances were performed, Azerbaijani and Tatar national dishes were presented, and various competitions were held.
Ruslan Guliyev, head of the department of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, Mikhail Evdokimov, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Damir Natfullin, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, and others spoke at the celebration. They stressed that Sabantuy in Azerbaijan is an indicator of friendly relations between the two peoples.
