According to the World Congress of Tatars, about 500 representatives of Tatar nationality from 28 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from Kazakhstan, arrived in Novosibirsk for the Federal Sabantui.

The chairman of the Tatar national cultural autonomy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Vagiz Fayzullin, during a conversation with a Tatar-inform news agency correspondent, called the Federal Sabantuy a meeting place for Tatars from all over Russia and shared that he had come to study the celebration.

“Federal Sabantui was also held in Krasnoyarsk, and it is interesting for me to compare,” said Fayzullin.

He emphasized that the Federal Sabantui is a good occasion to meet with fellow tribesmen, as well as to communicate and exchange views. At the same time, Fayzullin believes, it is necessary to preserve the original function of Sabantui as a holiday of village workers. In his opinion, the program of the holiday should include the celebration of the best agricultural workers.

The leader of the Tatar public organization of Chuvashia Farit Gibatdinov reminded that last year the Federal Sabantuy was held in Cheboksary and the holiday in Novosibirsk was also interesting for him from the point of view of  organization and  program.

The participant of the song and dance ensemble “The Bird of Happiness” from the town of Sharypovo of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Zagiba Islamgereeva said that the collective  had  traveled 750 km to participate in the celebration. The ensemble will perform at the concert site Sabantuy in Novosibirsk. Zagiba Islamgereeva herself is a native of the Yutazinsky district of Tatarstan, but has been living in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for 40 years.

The federal Sabantuy in Novosibirsk started on June 8 and began with horse races for the prize of the governor of the region. The main activities of the Federal Sabantui will be held today in the territory of the Mikhailovskaya Embankment park. The President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrei Travnikov  will take part in the  event.
